This is the bold choice made by ANDAMAN SAILS, refusing to adopt a retrograde technology and betting on innovation with all-electric propulsion.

Design optimized for autonomy

The ANDAMAN SAILS philosophy is based on the design of boats in which every element is thought out to minimize the amount of energy needed for displacement. The choice of materials and the maximization of sailing performance are taken into account right from the design stage to promote energy efficiency.

The meticulous aerodynamic and hydrodynamic design of our catamarans optimizes energy efficiency, minimizing drag and maximizing range. Andaman Sails strives to create boats capable of sailing for long periods using only energy stored on board from renewable sources.

Integrated renewable energy

This dynamic, high-performance hull, combined with electric propulsion, enables the use of renewable energies on board. Our catamarans incorporate solar and hydroelectric energy recovery and storage systems. Onboard solar panels and hydroelectric generators continuously capture natural energy, storing it in state-of-the-art batteries. This energy then powers our electric motors and other on-board equipment. The idea is to make the most of the energy sources available at sea, thus promoting energy autonomy and reducing the boat's ecological footprint.

Energy security

Andaman Sails places energy reliability at the heart of its boats. That's why, to guarantee versatility and energy security, the shipyard is exploiting recent advances in methanol fuel cells to develop reliable, stable systems whose efficiency matches that of thermal energy.

Although the aim is to install fuel cells, the cost of certain on-board technologies has prompted us to propose a hybrid option with an on-board thermal generator.
